Board of Education Meeting

Monday, July 10, 2023 – 7:30 p.m.

Bancroft, NE

 

The Bancroft-Rosalie School Board of Education met in regular session at

Bancroft-Rosalie Schools on Monday, July 10, 2023. Board President Mike

Nottlemann called the regular meeting to order at 7:30 p.m., with the following

members present: Trevor Bonneau, Pam Browning, Pat Browning, Mike

Nottlemann, Casey Novak and Kristine Sudbeck-Buchholz.

 

Notice of the meeting was published in the Wisner News-Chronicle five days

prior to the meeting.

 

President Nottlemann informed the public that a current copy of the “Open

Meetings Act” is posted on the north wall of the library.

 

Motion by Novak, second by Bonneau to approve the minutes of the

June 12, 2023 board meeting as presented. Result of roll call vote being all

ayes (6-0), motion carried.

 

Motion by Bonneau, second by Pam Browning to approve the bills. Result

of roll call vote being all ayes (6-0), motion carried.

 

Superintendent Cerny gave the financial review: Summary of accounts: End of

June cash balance $2,216,119; Receipts $216,119; Disbursements

$610,083; Building Fund $398,610; Depreciation Fund $86,284;

Quality Capital Fund $451,340; Activity Fund $31,334; Cooperative

Fund $14,733, and Hot Lunch Fund $91.00.

 

Motion by Bonneau, second by Pat Browning to approve the agenda.

Result of roll call vote being all ayes (6-0), motion carried.

 

In board committee reports, the American Civics board met prior to the

meeting.

Additional discussion was held on Building and Grounds and Reorganization. July 18, 2023 the construction and management contracts need to be submitted. The group will meet a 6 p.m. on July 18, 2023.

 

In old business a motion was made by Bonneau, second by Novak to approve the Board Policy 0789 Construction Management at Risk. Result of roll call vote being all ayes (6-0), motion carried.

 

 

In new business, Motion made by Bonneau, second by Novak to approve following new policies and amended policies: 425.2 Collection of Information Relating to Dyslexia, 517.1 Firearm Policy, 517.2 Seizure Safe Schools 518.2 Behavioral Points of Contact, 151 Annual Meeting, 411.5 Option Enrollment 418 Full/Part-time Enrollment, 427 Graduation, 438 Extracurricular Activity Discipline, 443.4 Initiations and Hazing, 446 Student Discipline, 527.2 Assessments- Standards, 538 Special Education Policies 560 Alternative Schools, and 607.1 Equal Access for Student Groups. Result of roll call vote being all ayes (6-0), motion carried.

 

The board reviewed the 2023 School Census.

 

The board reviewed the 0450 Student Fees Policy. The fees collected during the 22-23 school year were presented.

 

The board discussed and reviewed the 0631.1 Title I Parental and Family Involvement Policy, the 0443 Bullying Policy, the Attendance Policy 0413 and the Return to Learn Plan.

 

There was no executive session.

 

The next regular board meeting will be Monday, Aug. 14, 2023 at 7:30 p.m.

The meeting was adjourned at 9:26 p.m.
