Board of Education Meeting

Monday, June 13, 2022 – 7:30 p.m.

Bancroft, NE

 

The Bancroft-Rosalie School Board of Education met in regular session at Bancroft-Rosalie Schools on Monday, June 13, 2022. Board President Mike Nottlemann called the regular meeting to order at 7:32 p.m., with the following members present: Trevor Bonneau, Pam Browning, Pat Browning, Mike Nottlemann and Jason Wortman. Absent: Casey Novak. Also present were Superintendent Jon Cerny, High School Principal Kyle Elsasser, and Recording Secretary Kim Kai as well as several teachers.

 

Notice of the meeting was published in the Wisner News-Chronicle five days prior to the meeting.

 

President Nottlemann informed the public that a current copy of the “Open Meetings Act” is posted on the north wall of the library.

 

Motion by Bonneau, second by Pam Browning to approve the minutes of the May 9, 2022 board meeting as presented. Result of roll call vote being all ayes (5-0), motion carried.

 

Motion by Pam Browning, second by Pat Browning to approve the bills. Result of roll call vote being all ayes (5-0), motion carried.

 

Superintendent Cerny gave the financial review: Summary of accounts: End of May cash balance $2,485,771.54; Receipts $796,756.53; Disbursements $385,415.31; Building Fund $290,049.86; Depreciation Fund $86,284.06; Quality Capital Fund $315,207.30; Activity Fund $35,291.71; Cooperative $19,714.90, and Hot Lunch Fund $51,155.60.

 

Motion by Bonneau, second by Pam Browning to approve the agenda with 9.A. Old Business: Review of financial needs-preliminary budget study tabled to the July board meeting. Result of roll call vote being all ayes (5-0), motion carried.

 

No one was present to speak during the Public Hearing.

 

The Superintendent’s Report consisted of the May transportation report, Transfer to Activity Fund, Clean School Bus Rebate Program, Sixpence Continuation Grant approval, Head Start Partnership with NENCAP and the Strategic Planning session scheduled for Thursday, June 16.

 

Board member Casey Novak arrived at 7:46 p.m.

 

The Principal’s Report consisted of yearly Discipline Report, Bully Report and summer staff trainings.

 

In board committee reports, the American Civics and P2T boards will meet at 7 p.m. prior to July meeting.

 

In new business, motion by Pat Browning, second by Wortman to retain the following:

       Official banks: First Bank of Bancroft (General Fund)

            First Community Bank of Beemer (other funds)

       Official newspaper: Wisner News-Chronicle

       Legal counsel: KSB School Law

       Food service prices:

            Breakfast: Adults $2.25, a la carte & juice & milk $.50, guests (P-12) $1.60

            Lunch: Adults $3.75, a la carte $1.50, guests (P-6) $2.75 & (7-12) $3

 

Motion by Bonneau, second by Novak to approve the Sick Leave Bank request as approved by Bancroft-Rosalie Education Association. Result of roll call vote being all ayes (6-0), motion carried.

 

Motion by Novak, second by Pat Browning to approve funds for Summer Enrichment Speech & Drama, cheerleading and sports camps. Result of roll call vote being all ayes (6-0), motion carried.

 

The next regular board meeting will be Monday, July 11, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.
