Bancroft-Rosalie Community School Board of Education Meeting Monday, March 6, 2023 6:30 p.m. Bancroft, NE

 

The Bancroft-Rosalie School Board of Education met in regular session at Bancroft-Rosalie on Monday, March 6, 2023. Board President Mike Nottlemann called the regular meeting to order at 6:30 p.m., with the following members present: Trevor Bonneau, Pam Browning,, Mike Nottlemann, and Kristine Sudbek-Buchholz. Board members absent were Pat Browning and Casey Novak. Also present were Superintendent Jon Cerny, Principal Kyle Elsasser and BREA Representatives Brittney Stanek and Lori Hermelbracht.

Motion was made by Pam Browning, seconded by Bonneau to excuse absent board members. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

Notice of the meeting was published in the Wisner News Chronicle five days prior to the meeting.

President Nottlemann informed the public that a current copy of the “Open Meetings Act” is posted on the north wall of the library.

Discussions were held with Ken Kirkpatrick, CWP Architects.

Motion was made by Bonneau, seconded by Sudbek Buchholz to approve the minutes of the Feb. 13, 2023 board meeting as presented. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

Motion was made by Bonneau seconded by Pam Browning to approve the bills. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

Superintendent Cerny gave the financial review: Summary of accounts: End of February cash balance $2,116,754.36; Receipts $595,360.57; Disbursements $488,742.87; Building Fund checking $336,235.48; Depreciation Fund checking $86,284.06; Cooperative Fund

$2,662.49, Quality Capital Fund $439,733.22; Activity Fund $48,747.33, and Hot Lunch Fund $1,223.79.

Motion was made by Nottlemann, seconded by Pam Browning to approve the agenda. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

There was no one present to speak during the public hearing.

The Superintendent’s Report consisted of the March transportation report, the NRCSA Spring Conference at Kearney, Projected State Aid 2023-24, and managed print proposal from Eakes Office Solutions.

A committee of seniors presented the Senior Sneak Trip agenda and asked for additional time. Motion by Bonneau, seconded by Sudbek Buchholz. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

Principal Elsasser reported on continuous school improvement, student concerns, and a Social Media and Cell Phone Usage Presentation on March 15.

There was no Old Business to discuss.

Motion by Pam Browning, seconded by Sudbek Buchholz to name the Superintendent authorized representative for Federal, State, and Local programs, including Title programs, Special Education, Food Services, NSAA, and East Husker Conference. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

Motion by Sudbek Buchholz, seconded by Pam Browning to adopt Appendix 1 – Option Enrollment Capacity. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

Motion by Bonneau, seconded by Sudbek Buchholz to offer driver education contract to Roxanne Raasch. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

Motion by Nottlemann, seconded by Bonneau to approve the school calendar for 2023-24. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

Motion by Pam Browning, seconded by Sudbek Buchholz to accept the resignation of Sonja Suhr. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried. The board thanked her for her years of service and wished her well.

The Board entered Executive Session at 8:45p.m. to discuss various personnel matters. Motion by Sudbek Buchholz, seconded by Pam Browning to come out of Executive Session. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried. The Board came out of Executive Session at 9:22p.m.

Motion by Bonneau, seconded by Pam Browning to offer employment agreements. Result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

The next regular board meeting will be Monday, April 10, 2023 at 7:30 p.m. Meeting adjourned at 9:23 p.m.
