Board of Education Meeting

Monday, Nov. 14, 2022

 

The Bancroft-Rosalie School Board of Education met in a regular session at Bancroft-Rosalie Schools on Monday, Nov. 14, 2022. Board President Mike Nottlemann called the regular meeting to order at 7:35 p.m., with the following members present: Trevor Bonneau, Pam Browning, Mike Nottlemann, and Casey Novak. Board member Pat Browning was absent. Also present were Superintendent Jon Cerny, High School Principal Kyle Elsasser, Director of the Elementary, Karin Vogt, Carri Schuttler and CharLee Raascch, BREA Representatives.

 

President Nottlemann asked for a motion to excuse Board Member Pat Browning from tonight’s meeting.            Motion was made by Pam Browning, seconded by Bonneau to excuse Pat Browning from the meeting. The result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

Notice of the meeting was published in the Wisner News Chronicle five days prior to the meeting.

 

President Nottlemann informed the public that a current copy of the “Open Meetings Act” is posted on the north wall of the library.

 

Motion was made by Novak, seconded by Bonneau to approve the minutes of the Oct.10, 2022 board meeting as presented. The result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

Motion was made by Bonneau, seconded by Novak to approve the bills. The result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

Superintendent Cerny gave the financial review: Summary of accounts: End of October cash balance $1,712,712.39; Receipts $187,310.45; Disbursements

$455,358.36; Building Fund checking $328,416.14; Depreciation Fund checking $86,284.06; Quality Capital Fund $357,715.55; Activity Fund

$54,700.27 and Hot Lunch Fund $18,081.97.

 

Motion was made by Browning and seconded by Novak to approve the agenda. The result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

There was no one present to speak during the public hearing.

 

The Superintendent’s Report consisted of the October transportation report, the average cost per pupil in 21-22, the tax history, and the school board conference.

 

The Principal’s Report consisted of participation from the recent Parent- Teacher Conferences, Red Ribbon Week Presentation, End of the Quarter Celebration, Students of the Quarter, and Musketeers Hockey Tickets.

 

There were no board committee reports to give. There was no old business to report.

In new business, the board discussed the annual reviews of the Multi-Cultural Program and the annual review of school technology.

 

A motion was made by Novak and seconded by Bonneau to approve the baseball cooperative with Pender and Lyons-Decatur for the 2022-23 and 2023-24 school years. The result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

A motion was made by Novak and seconded by Browning to approve the Bancroft-Rosalie Facility Improvement Study Agreement. The result of roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

Motion by Nottlemann seconded by Novak to enter executive session at 8:17

p.m. The result of the roll call vote was all ayes, motion carried.

 

The board resumed regular session at 9:10 p.m.

 

A motion was made by Bonneau and seconded by Browning to appoint Kristine Sudbeck-Buchholz to the vacant seat on the Bancroft-Rosalie Board of Education. The result of the roll call vote being all ayes, motion carried.

 

Board President Nottlemann adjourned the meeting at 9:13 p.m.

 

The next regular board meeting will be Monday, Dec. 12, 2022 at 7:30 p.m.
