Striv Broadcasting

B-R Striv Team

Check in with the 22-23 BR Striv team this weekend as they are broadcasting the East Husker Conference Tournament finals in Fremont. The 8 member team includes Landon Bonneau, Avin Dean, Samuel Dick, Garan Coons, Landen Cooper, Jameer Grant, Drake Porter, and our newest member, Chaz Vargas. As a Striv member, students need specific skills. Understanding the movement of our video camera, knowing how to effectively use a computer and specific computer applications and programs, and a general understanding of sports, are just a few of the basic qualities. Many of our members are in sports, and even at times, in the activities that we are streaming, making it difficult to divide up all our air time between each other. As all teams, each member has their strength and value. Landon Bonneau is good at commentating the games on air and game preparation. Avin Dean has smooth speaking skills, an extensive vocabulary, and troubleshoots well. Samuel Dick has great general knowledge of each sport, and has very good terminology and game strategies to share with the audience. Garan Coons has a natural speaking voice, and is good at on-air troubleshooting. Landen Cooper understands the camera and score board very well, and has the patience to run it. Jameer Grant is good with equipment setup, scoreboard controls, and game preparation. Drake Porter has a great basketball understanding, speaks well, and is a versatile member of the staff. As the newest member, Chaz Vargas’ skills are many. He enjoys co-commenting with fellow classmates on-air and is disciplined with smooth camera movements. Nevertheless, after just a month, his willingness to help is a great start. The Bancroft-Rosalie Striv team broadcasts home high school events, so check in with our Live Broadcasts.
