'It takes a village!'

B-R has an early dismissal one Wednesday every month, so that staff can meet to review student data and plan for coming PBIS trainings.

Recently on such a day, a kindergartener's parents were not aware of the early out, and, consequently, the child was dropped off at the Rosalie bus stop without a ride. Immediately when the school was notified, staff started calling other parents and students who live in Rosalie. Those parents then called other parents, and parents walked around town looking and searching. It was yet another parent who called the child's mother and then took him to a relative's house.

It is a wonderful thing to live in a small community, and when problems like this happen, it becomes very clear that "It takes a village to raise our children."

A big thank you to those parents and school staff who searched and called and then called again to make sure the child was found.

At B-R, we don't ever want these things to happen, but when they do, we are sure glad we have the staff we do and the support of all our parents.

All activities and early dismissals are listed on the school website at www.bancroft-rosalie.org and the monthly newsletter. To receive the newsletter, please call the school at 402-648-3336.
