Earth science, biology students busy in class
In Mrs. Henry's biology class, students recently learned about the parts and functions of a eukaryotic cell (a cell with a nucleus) by creating a 3-D model of the cell. Students were either assigned an animal cell or plant cell and had to create a model, labeling the name of the organelles and their functions.
Earth science students recently got hands-on experience to learn about erosion and ways to reduce erosion. Students conducted an experiment in which they had two sections of dirt - one that was just dirt and the other that was covered by grass. Then, they simulated a "rain storm" to see which dirt experienced more erosion. This experiment helped students understand how plants prevent erosion from occurring.
