Audience is jury in 'The Big Bad Musical'

In 43 days, summer vacation will be over and students will be heading back to school. And when they do, rehearsals for the school’s musical will begin.

Before school was dismissed in May, the cast list was revealed after students took part in auditions.

Taking part in the musical will be Lauren Ahlers as Sydney Grimm, Kennedy Schuttler as the Fairy Godmother, Jerrica Tietz as Little Red Riding Hood, Vanessa Madrid as Grandmother Hood, Derek Ahlers as Bill Woodcutter, Chase Bonsall as the Shepherd, Damion Otteman as the Boy Who Cried Wolf, Austin Bruning as the Big Bad Wolf, Ian Nottlemann as the Judge Wise Old Man, Tess Nottlemann as the Evil Stepmother and Anna Currier as Miss Muffit.

Assuming the roles of one, two and three are Jaeliesa Switzer, Gabriella Wilson and Teagan Steinmeyer. The Wolfettes are Allysa Bonneau, Cydnee Bonsall, Kariden Briggs and KaTesha Henderson.

This 60-minute courtroom comedy involves the audience who, as the jury, must decide the outcome of a trial in the fairy-tale world. The Big Bad Wolf is hit with a class-action lawsuit by characters who want to get even, including Little Red Riding Hood, her grandmother, the Three Little Pigs and the Shepherd in charge of the Boy Who Cried Wolf.

With Sydney Grimm as the commentator on live Court TV, the two greatest legal minds in the Enchanted Forest—the Evil Stepmother and the Fairy Godmother—clash in a trial that will be remembered forever after. As wronged fairy tale characters testify, the wolf seems deserving of all that’s coming. Yet, even though the infamous Evil Stepmother resents doing pro-bono work on such an obviously futile defense, Mr. Wolf makes a good case for himself. Was he born a criminal, or made one?
