A big thank you to the West Point DQ for creating this special moment and supporting local students. Your commitment to the community makes a difference!
Congratulations, Drake—we can’t wait to see all you accomplish! 👏

Juniors Kamdyn, Bailey, and Daltyn represented our JAG program at High School Legislative Day yesterday , where they had the opportunity to hear from leaders including JAG State Officer Tabby Punke, Senator Ben Hansen, and the Lt. Governor. Students also observed a live floor debate, getting a firsthand look at how laws are made in Nebraska.
After the Capitol visit, our JAG students, who are also proud FFA members, joined forces with our State FFA group for a visit to the Southeast Lincoln Police Department. They heard from Detective Chris Schamber, who shared his career journey, discussed recent real-world cases, and gave students an inside look at law enforcement with a station tour.
From government to public service, the day was packed with real-world connections and career inspiration. Our students wear many hats and this was a great example of our programs working together so they can do it all. Thank you all for representing B-R so well!

Zuri Martinez, Kloe McClain, and Brinnley Soll had the opportunity to hear from Governor Pillen, watch live bill debates on the floor, meet with Senator Ben Hansen, and tour the historic capitol building. They were also welcomed by B-R senior Tabby Punke during one of her official duties as JAG State Officer Alternate.
To wrap up the day, students visited UNL’s East Campus, where B-R alum Julie Obermeyer, UNL Career Development and Corporate Relations Director, shared insights into career development and opportunities.
What a powerful day of learning, leadership, and future-building! 👏 #JAG #FutureLeaders #CivicEngagement

Are kids really more crazy during a full moon? Maybe cattle are too? Should we avoid working cattle on days during full moons? Are they more aggressive then for some reason?
That’s what they sought to find out. Research shows that there may be a correlation, and so they hypothesized that it would be better not to work cattle on those days to avoid injury.
After their research, it actually seems they are most calm during a waxing moon! If you can schedule it then, it may be beneficial. Calmer animals, fewer injuries.
They presented their findings at WSC Friday, March 20 at the National Junior Academy of Sciences competition. It was a fantastic opportunity to speak about their project and interact with the judges.

Reed took home the Golden Tractor Award for the cleanest tractor—well deserved! The student-made trophy will now become a traveling award, making it even more special in the years to come.
Cason earned 2nd place and won a great prize from Beck’s Seed—congrats!
We had such a fun day at BR and are absolutely loving FFA Week. 💙💛

Our students absolutely brought the creativity and school spirit—everything from the hilarious to the downright genius. You could tell they understood the assignment and then some.
Safe to say they knocked it out of the park. Proud of this crew for making it such a fun and memorable day! 💙🌾 #FFAWeek #SchoolSpirit #AnythingButABackpack
