We are three weeks away from the Senior Soup Supper! The event will be held on February 14th at the B-R School. Grand prizes for the raffle include a $400 Visa Gift Card and Apple Airpods Pro 2 ($250)! There will also be many other prizes available. We’re hosting an exciting Junior High Girls Basketball Tournament featuring the B-R, Winnebago, North Bend Central, and GACC! 🐾💙🖤

7 B-R FFA students traveled to Norfolk on Wednesday, January 22nd to compete at the District Livestock Judging Contest at NECC.
While we did not have enough students to fill our teams, the students that did go fared well individually! Competing in the senior division were in order of placings Cora Cooney 28th, Carter Bonneau 45th, and Aaliyah Soll 65th. Cora consistently placed her classes well to earn our top score. The seniors also had to give 3 sets of oral reasons - artfully telling the judge their placings and why they placed them as they did. Carter aced 3 classes including breeding gilts, market hogs, and breeding heifers. Tabby Punke competed as well; however, had to scratch at the end due to illness. While competing she aced 2 classes: ewes and market steers. This year we were able to offer a competition for junior high ag students. They got their feet wet judging, but they did not have to give oral reasons. Competing well for us earning scores over 300 included Gunner Hackney and Barrett Beutler. A big congratulations to McKaylee Archer who earned 1st place in the junior high division acing 3 classes - ewes, market hogs, and bulls.
This event really pushes students to work on quick evaluation and decision making. They then must follow up by using their public speaking skills to defend those decisions using appropriate terminology and facts in a logical order.
