Second grade learns about properties of matter

The second grade class completed their first launch unit this week. The unit focused on properties of matter. Students learned about insulators and conductors. After investigating which materials were the best insulators, the students worked in groups with a variety of materials to create an insulator that would keep an ice pop cold. The students inventions were tested under a heat lamp. One group came out ahead but overall they did a great job!
