Snyder is top JV girl scorer

The BRLD girls junior varsity season has come to an end. This year, 15 girls competed on the Wolverine JV team, and because of the coop, we were able to play four quarters in many of the games. If we were only able to play two quarters, it was because of the opposing team.

This year’s JV team was coached by TJ Hilsinger, Megan Long, Matt Wegner, and RodPeters.

One of the highlights of the season was going 15-5. This year’s team scored 36 ppg and gave up 21.8 ppg.

Leading the way this year in scoring was Keisha Snyder with 116 points. Close behind with 90 points was Isabel Freemont, who also led the team in 3pt. field goals with 10. Aubrey Berg ended the year with seven.

This group of girls did a great job of playing team basketball. With the varsity graduating five seniors, these girls will be looked on to compete for playing time next season.

An area that the team could improve on is free throw shooting as this year’s team only shot 47 percent from the free throw line.

Also suiting up for JV this year were Kinlee Bacon, Emma Beutler, Tyra Bonneau, Bailey Hayes, Ashley Lecher, KaiLynn Lovejoy, Audra Nolting, Brooklyn Nolting, Tori Ostrand, Maria Ras and Caragan Tietz.

Congrats girls on a great season, and we look forward to working with you this summer to improve on your skills.
