Chili cook-off for a cause

Donations help Rosalie family

Among a variety of other things happening this weekend in Bancroft, a chili cook-off for a cause has been planned for Saturday night.

The first annual Bancroft Chili Cook-Off For a Cause will be held on the main level of the community building. While the deadline for entries has expired, you can still show up and eat. Judging will begin at 6 p.m. You can get all you can get for $10. A cash bar also will be available.

There are six categories that any chili connoisseur would like: traditional, white chicken, five alarm, vegetarian, no beans and miscellaneous.

All entires will be judged by those in attendance. A first place prize will be awarded in each category, with first through third place awarded to "The Best of the Best," "Overall" and "Highest Rated."

All proceeds will be donated to the Bob Wilson family of Rosalie. Bob's wife, Mary, has been battling cancer this past year. Their son, Josh, is a senior at Bancroft-Rosalie.
