Veterans' Day program is Friday

This year Veterans' Day falls on Saturday, so the students at Bancroft-Rosalie will be observing the special holiday on Friday, with a program that begins at 2:45 p.m.

Speaking to the students, staff and visitors in attendance will be Bancroft native Jason Gatzemeyer, current legion commander of Post 191. After 20 years, Gatzemeyer retired from the U.S. Navy as a chief petty officer.

Also taking to the podium will be Pastor Nathan Henschen of Bancroft's St. Paul's Lutheran Church and senior Morgan Bonneau, the most recent representative to Girls State. Freshman Micah Henschen and sophomore Kyler Gomez will play Taps.
