Birdhouse attracts birds (& students)

There has been an addition to the south side of Bancroft-Rosalie Community School, and both the students and birds are enjoying it.

Bob Wilson from Rosalie recently built the large wooden birdhouse and donated it to the school. It is atop a wooden pole that stands nine feet off the ground.

"Bob spent many hours designed and building this treasure," said kindergarten teacher Patty Wegner. "The kindergarten class is in charge of putting bird seed in the tray, and excitement on the faces of the students was priceless when they witnessed the first bird snacking from the tray."

Maintenance supervisor Matt Kai and senior Nolan Smith helped Wilson install the birdhouse just south of the kindergarten room.

"The school sincerely thanks Mr. Wilson for this wonderful gift, and it will be enjoyed by students for years to come," Wegner said.
