Kindergarteners take fall field trip

Recently, the kindergarten class went on their field trip, and they started the morning out by riding the school bus to Master’s Hand Candles in Tekamah.

Once they arrived, they were split into two groups. Half the class started out learning how to make floral arrangements, and each student took turns helping to make a fall bouquet to bring back to the classroom. The other half of the class was given the chance to taste the different types of chocolate. One of the kindergarten’s favorite parts of the visit was when Miss Susie helped each of them dip their own pretzel in chocolate so they could decorate it as they wished. Their pretzels were then bagged and sent home with them.

The students also toured the gift shop looking at all the items for sale before switching groups.

In the afternoon, the children visited the Harvest Moon Pumpkin Patch near Oakland. Even though the weather was a little chilly when they arrived, the weather was perfect by the time they finished their sack lunches. After lunch, the class broke into small groups to explore the many activities the pumpkin patch had to offer.

This year's favorite activities included riding the zip lines, driving the monster trikes, playing in the corn pile and putting on puppet shows. The students also spent time playing on the two jumping pillows, riding the small roller coaster cars, playing in the new game barns, petting animals, playing in the pirate ship surrounded by sand, driving go-karts and trikes, going through a corn maze, playing on the spider swings, going down barn slides and walking through a haunted forest.

The B-R kindergarteners and staff would like to thank the parents and grandparents for helping chaperone. Your help was greatly appreciated.
