Normally taboo, class encouraged to make paper airplanes
Paper airplanes are normally forbidden in any school, but a Bancroft-Rosalie art teacher made an exception before classes dismissed for the summer for a very special reason.
Members of the 6th grade class wrote letters to send to Joey Merritt, a 2012 graduate of Bancroft-Rosalie High School who is currently stationed overseas with the U.S. Air Force. The letters were then folded into paper airplances to which the kids designed and colored.
Merritt is the son of Sam and Michelle Merritt of rural Bancroft. His sister, Sara, is currently a student at B-R.
