'I Can Read with My Eyes Shut!'

Students celebrate Dr. Seuss

One name synonymous with children's books is Dr. Seuss.

We grew up reading his colorful and peculiar books that taught us how fun it is to read and rythme. We learned how yummy green eggs and ham can be, a person is a person no matter how small and, of course, you can make your own fun on a cloudy and rainy day.

Elementary students at Bancroft-Rosalie celebrated Dr. Seuss' birthday and Read Across America last week along with millions of other schools around the country.

The preschoolers celebrated by dressing up as their favorite Seuss character, wore hats and other activities during the week while the kindergarteners watched Seuss movies at the end of each day and, along with the first graders, got special Seuss hats to wear. The fourth graders read books in the kindergarten room on Read Across America Day.
