'Monkeying Around with Speech & Drama'

Students who took part in this summer's Panther Pride speech and drama workshop gained valuable experience in poetry, prose and group interpretation as well as public speaking.

The camp was for students entering third through eighth grades in the fall, and each participant received a green t-shirt with the camp's theme of "Monkeying Around with Speech & Drama."

Those attending the final performance were entertained with knock-knock jokes and speeches about everything from basketball and fishing to zebras and deer hunting. The students also performed four OIDs (oral interpretation of drama): "Bremen Town Musicians," "The Principal's New Clothes," "The Frog Prince Continued" and "Jack and the Beanstalk."

The annual camp was put on by 16 student directors, who also are members of the school's one-act and speech teams. Camp supervisors were Anita Bray, Abby Linnerson and Ronda Ras.
