Students rack up 6,500-plus GRRs in 14-15

If you've ever been inside the entrance of the Bancroft-Rosalie school building, you've seen them. I'm talking about the GRRs that proudly hang on the walls in the hallways by the front doors.

Amazingly, students at B-R earned 6,764 GRRs during the 2014-15 school year. And if you were to divide that out equally among the 268 elementary, junior high and senior high students, which isn't the case as some students earn more GRRs than others, but if you did, that equates to 25 GRRs per student last year.

If you don't know what a GRR is, chances are you don't have a child or grandchild enrolled here at B-R, so let me explain. GRR stands for "Gotta Be Safe, Responsible & Respectful," which is a motto here at school and part of the Positive Behavioral Interventions & Supports program. The PBIS program was implemented at B-R several years ago and is a way to reward the positive behavior of students of any age.
