Guidance teaches elementary different skills

Elementary students in K-6 attend guidance as one of their specials once a week with Mrs. Bray.  So just what do the students do?

Each grade does something a bit different from each other. The kindergarteners learn about listening skills, being a friend, safety and self-discovery (age, birthdays, etc.).

First graders learn about the skills it takes to be a good citizen while second graders check into friendship skills and third graders look at being respectful, responsible, and honest, etc.

The fourth graders examine how to solve conflicts, fifth grade reviews careers, and sixth graders take a good long look into junior high and what to expect when they go into seventh grade.

Each week provides these young citizens a way to practice daily social skills along with a chance for Mrs. Bray to get to know them better. Hopefully, they experience that school is a great place to be!
