Drawings earn Tietz ink in Sioux City Journal
We all know here at Bancroft-Rosalie that soon-to-be-senior Jerrica Tietz has a passion for drawing.
In fact, this passion has made her a two-time winner of the Congressional Art Competition for Nebraska's First Congressional District. And because of that, other people have taken notice, too. Nick Hytrek of the Sioux City Journal recently wrote an article about Tietz titled "Bancroft teen's artwork speaks volumes."
When Tietz picks subjects for her heart-touching drawings, she doesn't have to look far. The unfortunate loss of a niece last year at the age of six months was the subject of one of her pencil drawings. Her grandparents, Lloyd and Helen Tietz, were the subjects of her most recent. As was the one of Faith, her "Love for a Lifetime" drawing will be displayed in the Cannon Tunnel in Washington, D.C., for a year.
