B-R Students go to State Speech

Molly H. and Jasmine G. attended State Speech at The University of Nebraska in Kearney on March 25. The first preliminary round started at 9:30 p.m. this was followed by another preliminary round at 12:30 p.m. The top six from both rounds moved on to the final round. 15 other schools participated from the C2 districts, with 18 contestants involved in the contest. The winner of the informative speech contest was Casey S., from Hartington. Molly H. received 4th for a speech about melanoma and Jasmine G. received 10th for a speech about calligraphy.
