B-R Power Drive sweeps over all championships for the third consecutive year.  State Power Drive was held in Pacific Junction IA this past weekend on Saturday, May 8th.  This was the B-R Power Drive Team’s 7th state championship. B-R raced 2 cars one in the standard race and the other in the advanced race both cars won their classes.  The overall champion is based on documentation, design, braking, endurance and maneuverability. Drivers Ryley M. Jacob H. Eric B. Alex B. beat out 50 other cars. Driver of the S20 car Ryley M. stated that “it was a very exciting day all the hard work and time spent in the shop payed off”. He also said “I’d really like to thank the sponsors for all their help without their help power drive wouldn’t be possible”. The other driver of the S20 car Eric B. said “the best thing about power drive is everything that you learn in the class room is put to use on the track and the reason we win all the championships is because of all the hard work we put in before we race”. One of the highlights of the day was that the documentation for the S20 car won a tool box donated by Snap-on.  Documentation Specialist Kalene A. stated that “I’m glad all our efforts paid off at state and I wish I would’ve been out for Power Drive all 4 years”. Kalene also said that Jeremy S. did a great job in preparing the Power Drive video you can check it out on Eric. B’s power drive blog on the school website. Instructor Rob Smith stated that he really appreciated all the hard work the students put in on the cars, and also the help from the parents, and sponsors. It was a great ending to the Power Drive season.  Congratulations on your new state title!!
