Panthers Take 2nd in West Point!!

The Bancroft-Rosalie Speech Team took second place out of eighteen schools in the West Point Beemer Speech Invitational, Feb. 20th. Overall, B-R took home awards in eight events.
Leading the way for the Panthers this week were double-finalists Jacob Hennig, Jenae Gatzemeyer, Molly Hermelbracht, Anna Bailey, and Olivia Nottlemann.
Hennig partnered with Connor Brummond to win duet acting with a cutting from “Private Wars” and added a sixth-place ribbon in entertainment . Gatzemeyer, Hermelbracht, and Bailey joined
Taylor Ostrand and Amy Carlson to take fifth in Oral Interpretation of Drama. Gatzemeyer also earned third place in persuasive, Hermelbracht took fourth in informative, and Bailey finished fifth in extemporaneous. Nottlemann took the bronze in extemporaneous and added a sixth-place ribbon in poetry. Erin Beutler also grabbed fourth place in persuasive.
“This meet included schools as large as Class B, and the competition was pretty fierce, ” said Coach Ronda Ras. “I was proud of our kids’ performances, and we definitely gained some good experience moving toward district competition.”
“We did very well this weekend, but we need to keep improving as we move into conference and district,” commented Assistant Coach Anita Bray.
The Panthers host their conference meet Saturday, starting at 9 a.m. at the B-R School. As always, speaking is open to the public.
