There were good results at the Conference Art Show on Saturday, February 25th, with many of the B-R students taking home ribbons with their success. Hannah N.’s projects dominated the art show with a total of 7 drawings taking home a ribbon! Her 3 first place ribbons were from her projects named, “Teamwork,” “Ville Valo,” and “City Lights.” Her other 4, which all got 2nd place ribbons, were called, “Great Swiss Mountain Dog,” “Elephant,” “Albert,” and “Bullet through Crayons.” Paige T. took home 3 ribbons with 2 second place projects, named “Running Horse and Farmall 300,” and 1 third place ribbon, going to her drawing of a rose. Jessica T. had 2 projects entered into the Art show with one, called “Horse,” taking 2nd place, and her other, a scratch board of a giraffe, taking 3rd. Taylor O. took home a 2nd place ribbon with her self-portrait, and Matthew W. took 3rd with his painting entitled “Hands.”
Congrats to all those who entered the Art Show and to those who won. Always remember these words, said by painter William Dobell, “A sincere artist is not one who makes a faithful attempt to put on to canvas what is in front of him, but one who tries to create something which is, in itself, a living thing.”
