2010 track season begins.

On Tuesday, March 30th the Bancroft-Rosalie track team had their first meet, which was originally supposed to be in Laurel-Concord but was moved to Wayne High School. The meet began with the 4x8 at 1:00 p.m. Bancroft’s 4x8 team took 4th place. The 2010 4x8 team in order is Makala M., Carly T., Alexa R., and Bryna F.
Some of the other events that the athletes placed in were the shot put. Tarita K. placed 3rd, and Jessica Tietz took 2nd in discus. Kalene A. took 3rd in the 200 m dash, 3rd in the 100 m dash , 2nd in the long jump and 1st in the 300 m hurdles with a new meet record of 48.3 seconds. In the girls high jump, Olivia N. took 4th, and Jade F. took 1st place with a jump of 4 ft. 8 in. Taylor O. placed 6th in the long jump. Jessica T. placed 4th in the 400 m dash. Makala M. placed 5th in the 800 m dash along with Carly. T who placed 6th. The 4x1 one team, which was Jennifer M., Makala M., Jade F., and Carly T. placed 5th. The 4x4 team,which consisted, of Jessica T., Bryna F., Makala M., and Carly T., placed 4th. The 4x4 was the last event of the meet. The girls over all placed 4th in the meet with 76 points.
As for the boys of Bancroft-Rosalie, Connor B. placed 3rd in the long jump and 2nd in the high jump. Mitchell W. took 3rd in the discus. In the 100 m dash, Matt S. placed 5th and 4th in the 200 m dash. Aaron B. and Connor B. both placed in the 400 m dash with 4th and 5th, with very close times. Matt S. also broke a new meet record in the 300 m hurdles with a time of 43.8 seconds. The 4x1 team placed 3rd. The 4x1 team consisted of Matt S., Connor B., Aaron B., and Dalton W. Over all the boys placed 5th with 47 points.
The boys took home one gold and the ladies took home 2 golds. The next meet will be next Tuesday, April 6th in Hartington at 1 p.m. The track students would appreciate some fans and support at the next track meet! Hope to see you there!
