Capture the Dream!!!

Capture the dream has been a motto used by the Bancroft-Rosalie Power Drive team this year. On May 3rd 2008, that is exactly what the team did. The team woke up early Saturday morning, and headed to Pacific Junction, IA. It was a cold and windy day, but that did not stop the Power Drive team. Both cars passed inspection, and were ready to race. The first competition was braking, where neither car placed. The next competition was maneuverability. The A21 car placed 3rd falling short to Beatrice and Raymond Central. After that, there was about half an hour until the standard Endurance race. So the team quickly changed the batteries, fixed the little problems and got ready to race. The race started and the S20 took the lead.
Then half way threw the race, they lost the lead to North Platte. The S20 ended up getting second in the race falling short to North Platte. The pit crew also got best pit crew award for the S20 driver change. After that, the team got the A21 ready for action. The A21 was made for this race. The advanced race started and the car took the lead without a problem. It kept the lead the entire time. The car ended up getting first. About 20 minutes later the awards were given out. Bancroft-Rosalie, overall, won the Runner-up trophy in the standard class. Then it was time for the advanced class awards, where the Bancroft-Rosalie Power Drive team won there 3rd state championship. “It was a great moment” says Rob Smith. After the team did what it came to do, they went to Famous Dave’s and celebrated. Well, I would say that it was a very successful season for the team. Bringing home the 3rd state championship in the 2007-2008 school year, I would say they captured the dream. The Bancroft-Rosalie Power Drive team would like to thank the sponsors who helped this state championship be possible! The final results for Saturday
