New Proposal for State Speech!

The girl’s basketball team won conference and the speech team won conference. The basketball team won districts and the speech team won districts. The basketball takes 12 players to state. The 2008 speech team took 14 members to state obviously more people than the basketball team. We don’t have school on the day of state volleyball, basketball, or football, so why should state speech be any different? Speech is just as important as these other sports. With a handful of kids believing in this sport and supporting our speech team at state, there was still more followers in school that were unable to get out to attend state speech because of school. The speech team needs support and letting students out of school would allow more of us to be able to go support our speech team. Yes, it is a longer drive than Lincoln is, but if volleyball, basketball, or football was in Kearney I’m sure we still wouldn’t have school.
